Itinerary
Day 1: Drive South to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
You begin your journey in Uganda, departing from either Entebbe or Kampala. Your professional driver/guide transfers you southwest toward the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This journey takes approximately nine hours, but it is an immersive experience. Along the way, you stop at the Equator monument, where you take photo shoots, capturing the moment you stand in both hemispheres.
You then continue your drive and enjoy lunch in Mbarara at the renowned Igongo Cultural Centre and Restaurant. After lunch, you proceed via the rolling hills of Kigezi, finally arriving at your booked sector of Bwindi National Park. You check into your lodge, have dinner, and prepare for the following day’s adventure.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Relaxation
You wake up early and eat a hearty breakfast. You pack your essential gear water, snacks, and rain gear before heading to the park visitor center. At the center, you attend the briefing, where UWA rangers educate you about the park and gorilla trekking guidelines.
You then set off on the actual trek, led by the experienced UWA rangers, through the dense forest. Once the rangers locate the gorilla family, you spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing the gentle giants.
The rangers award you with your official gorilla-trekking certificate. You return to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch. In the afternoon, you choose an optional village walk to experience local life, or you transfer to the scenic Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure
After breakfast, you depart from the area. You can choose to drive back to Entebbe/Kampala through Uganda, or you transfer to Kigali, Rwanda, depending on your onward travel arrangements. You conclude your incredible 3-day gorilla trekking adventure with Priscy Adventures.
